Are there two??

Are there two??

I am about 4-5 weeks along. We went in today for our first U/S (vaginal) and the doctor found 2 gestational sacs, but only said she sees one yolk sac. However, there was not an oppotunity for her to get a better view of the second gestational sac. We go back in one week to get another U/S done to see for sure.

What does anybody else think?

HI ALL

I FOUND OUT ON THE 07 AUGUST 2017 THAT IM PREGNANT ON THE 04 SEPTEMBER I HAD MY FIRST ULTRA SOUND. THE DOCTOR FOUND 2 SACKS, 1 WITH A HEALTH GROWING BABY THE OTHER WITH JUST A YOLK WITH NO HEART BEAT,AND MUCH SMALLER THEN THE OTHER BABIE I AN NOW 8W6D. I KNOW ITS BEEN ONLY 2 DAYS BUT I LOVE BOTH MY KIDS....I GO BACK ON THE 27TH...ANYONE WITH ADVICE ON WHAT I CAN EXPECT?

Hi,I was wondering,I saw my midwife a week ago,see her every other week now that I'm 32 weeks,but what has me thinking and I should have asked her more about it then but anyway when she checked for the heart beat there were two and it wasn't just for a second she really had to feel around to hear only one clear one,but said it was probably just an echo of mine.But now I can't get it out of my mind that maybe that's why this pregnancy has been so different(it being the fifth)but I've had three ultrasounds and they've only always seen one baby.is it possible?

Hi I'm eleven weeks pregnant and my last ultrasound was at 8 weeks and four days I don't go back until April 22nd but was has me and my husband very worryed is when I went to my ob appointment at 8 weeks and four days the ultrasound that was tooken looks so much like as if their is two sacks cause it shows one big sac in the middle were my baby is visible and then what looks to be as another sac that's small in the top left corner but when I asked about it they told me it was nothing to worry about that Im only carrying one baby plz help I'm so confused and scared I already have one child I don't want three all together

I just had my first ultrasound Tuesday I am currently 2 months today❤️ And when we were doing the ultrasound I seen the baby then a yolk sac above the baby?? What is the sac for??

Stephanie: yes, that is exactly what happened to me. (Read my posts from 2010/2011)... I now have 3 year old twin boys!
The doctors say that you can't see heartbeats until 6 wks 4 days... Also the sacs/babies can develop at different rates... Good luck.

Hi am expecting i am about 4 to 5 weeks. Went for scan yday as am bleedin brown blood. My scan shows a normal size sac with yolk sac and tiny baby but no hartbeat the women told us its 2 early yet fir a hart beat. There also another sac there thats is smaller than the other 1 that doesnt have anythin in ge sac yet do u think a baby can stil grow in tht sac i to go bk a week on thur to c if hartbeat and to c whats happin with other sac x

im having same thing went for v/s they seen two sacs but only one egg yolk.she said looks like twins but carnt see other one yet so ive got to go back in 2 weeks for another scan its the longest two weeks.

Iam 6 w5d, went for 1st u/s and saw a strong heartbeat....then my DR saic he could see where the other tried to implant but dont think it worked. The thing is when we transferred the two fresh embryos, one was already hatching, the other was not. In a normal pregnancy it takes a month before implanting completes....could it be possible my other baby is still growing??? I and my husband are not willing to give up yet....next u/s is wednesday.

I went to the dr the day I found out I was pregnant and my hcg was really low at 39 and then 3 days later it had went up to 2500 and they did an ultrasound today and found 2 gestational sacks with the gestational ring around both of them but only one had a yolk inside. I was measuring 5 weeks and 4 days. Could I be having twins?

Kelly, the exact same thing happened to me at 5weeks, 6 days and I now have 19 month old twin boys! At 5 weeks, it is still too early to always see the yolk sac. Read my earlier posts from oct 2010. And my updates later in the thread. At my scan at 5 w6days, I had one small round gestational sac with a yolk sac inside, and one huge oblong gestational sac without a yolk sac. Everything is still developing. By 6w4days, I had both yolk sacs with heartbeats!!! It will be ok, try not to worry too much!!! The doctor told me just a few days to a week can make a huge difference at that stage! Good luck!

 2 sacs one empty

Hi, I just had an internal ultrasound done on Thur, I was told that they found 2 sacs. 1 with a baby that they think is ok measuring 5 weeks. They also saw another very large watermelon shaped sac that was empty! The tech got the doctors and they said they never had seen anyhting like it, they are sending me to the hospital Monday. I am very scared and feel confusedany idea of what this could be? The also wouldnt give me any pictures :(

Wow! A month is a long time for you to wait and wonder about the viability of the other twin. Will your doctor see you any sooner?
My posts were earlier in this thread, as my due date was 6/5/2011. I ended up having twin a's membranes rupture at 25 w 6 days, and had to endure 48 hrs of magnesium sulfate to stop labor (which is the worst experience of my life, but it worked!!). I laid in hospital for 3 weeks on constant monitoring of our their heartbeats and my contractions before they took my twins at 28weeks and 5 days, as twin A had stopped growing due to no fluid. It was awful not knowing if either baby would survive or if they would have serious complications or not. Both boys spent 3 months in the NICU but are 18 months old now!! They are healthy except small for their age (very small TWIN A is only 16.5 pounds and TWIN B is 19 pounds).
Hang in there! However it turns out don't give up! I will be thinking of you and everyone else who is going thru that awful wait. Best of Luck! Pam

HELLO I AM 6WEEKS AND 6DAYS PREGNANT AND I WENT TO THE DOCTER YESTERDAY AND FOUND OUT ITS TWINS TH DR SAW TWO SAC VERY CLEARLY AND GOT ONE STRONG HEARTBEAT AND HE SAID THE OTHER SAC DIDNT LOOK NORMAL NOR WAS THE HEARTBEAT NORMAL AND HE WANTS ME TO COME BACK IN A MONTH FOR ANOTHER ULTRASOUND IM VERY NERVOUS NOW BECAUSE I WANT BOTH OF THE BABYS TO SURVIVE JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE EVER EXPERIENCE THIS.

I found out i was prago Fathers day 2012... i went for my first visit one wk later... dr sent me 4 a ER. u/s they said i was loseing or lost my baby... i cryed n cryed... dr. checked blood levels every 2 day... first levels 4200 he said 2 low.. second levels 5400 he said it was no good n i needed to come in a talk about a DNC... 3 days later i go talk to my dr crying i dont believe it... he said lets do one more level before we do the DNC... he calls me goin crazy my levels was over 9000... Yes i didnt lose my baby... go 4 another u/s dr said i am havin Twins... 2 sacs... Baby 1 6wks good heart beat. Baby 2 not big enough to c.. i went back one wk latter n now they say i lost Baby 1... n Baby 2 6wks n good heart beat... i just dont understand... so i go for another u/s in 3 days... i hope n pray both of my baby's r there..

Same thing when I was 6 weeks. One sac had a heartbeat, the other, just a yolk sac. a week later, they both were there.. what a surprise. I really thought the other one vanished but now I know he/she was only hiding from me =]

 Confused and need advice

I have had 2 ultrasounds. The first one was last week and showed one sac that had nothing in it. They did a quanitative HCG and my numbers doubled like normal. Today I went back for another ultrasound, and there were 2 sacs. One is nice and round with a yolk sac in there, the other one is oblonged shaped. Could this mean twins???? My HCG levels were at 7K on Thursday last week.

So I had a bleeding scare on Friday and was given two separate ultrasounds that day. Each one showed one sac. Today I went in for a follow up ultrasound and we saw 2 sacs! I am at 5w 5ds. Has anyone ever experienced this?

 Two Sacs Only One Yolk

I have a complicated history. When I was pregnant with my first child, the Dr missed the fact that it was ectopic. My tubed ruptured around 3 and 1/2 months and I was in bad shape. This left me with only one tube, but both ovaries. I later got pregnant again with my beautiful daughter. I am considered "high risk" because I have only one tube. For this reason, I am seen as soon as I take a pregnancy test and get a positive result. Anyway, I am pregnant again and the ultrasound at 6 wks 1 day shows 2 sacs. However there is only one yolk. I go back Friday(2/25/11) for yet another ultrasound, to see if the twin has developed or vanished. I'm just curious to see how many people have had this happen and how many actually end up with twins!

I am around 5wks. had my first sono & there are clearly 2 sacs. One you can see has something inside it. The second one looks empty. I go back in 2 weeks. The dr wasn't so sure it was twins, but the sono tech said it clearly was. Im so confused & nervous.

 Two sacs one yolk

I went back on 11/10 I was 6wks and 3 days we heard a heartbeat in the sac that has the yolk. The other sac still looked empty and the doc said it looks like I started a twin pregnancy but it didnt take. The sac is still there though. He said it may aborsbed or I may pass it out. I go back on 12/1. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for the commenting as I have been very nervous. This is my first baby. I will keep everyone in my prayers!

All has worked out well for me... I am now 11w2d with twins! At my 6w4d ultrasound, we saw both heartbeats. Baby A, (the one that had the yolk sac) has consistently measured SMALLER than Baby B ( which had no yolk sad at 5w6d)! Both are growing normal and I've had at least 5 U/S already because of 3 different bleeding episodes. They could not see any reason for any of the bleeding incidents (except the first which was a small clot outside the uterus)... All seems ok though and I'll get scanned again a week from tomorrow by the maternal-fetal medicine doc for mu nucheal fold test. For now, all is good and so excited to be having twins! I have the same situation but the sac with the yolk is oblong shaped and the other without a yolk is a perfect circle. I go back Monday to see for sure whats going on.

Same thing for me... I went in on 5w6d and u/s showed clearly two gest. sacs. One larger than the other. The small one had a yolk sac in it. The larger one appeared to have nothing in it, but due to the location on the u/s, doc said she couldn't be sure if there was a yolk sac hiding down in the whiter area of the scan inside the larger sac. She said it was still very early. We did not see any heartbeats. She said 4-5 days can make an unbelievable difference. I go back at 6w4d which is 10/14. So nervous, cuz this is our 2nd IVF attempt. First IVF resulted in conception, but no heartbeat at 6w4d or each week there after for 3 weeks. Baby had stopped growing at 6w2d. Praying that at least one of my twins shows a heartbeat at this upcoming u/s.

I am extremely interested to know what happened with your situation as I currently at 6 weeks pregnant had my first ultrasound and had the exact same thing! 2 sacs but only a yolk in one of them.. how did it pan out for you??
