Surprise at Second Ultrasound!!

First u/s at exactly 8 weeks and it was clearly one baby. I spotted the following Friday so I went back to doc on Tuesday and I was worried I lost the baby. He said, nope, you have two in there. Wow is all me and hubby could say. Second u/s was done at 9 weeks, 5 days. Doc said he c/n tell if they are identical or fraternal. After looking at all these u/s pics, it looks to me like they share a sac, but maybe it's just the angle the pic was taken. We have a 3 year old daughter which we conceived through fertility treatments and we got pregnant for the twins on our own. Due date is Jan 20, 2011. Excited that God blessed us with two babies.

Thanks. I've read about momo twins and now I'm and scared to death. They way the babies moved on the screen, it appears that they were touching each other. How far along were ya'll when the doctor was able to tell what gender both the babies were?

yes i too would say they look like they are sharing the same sac, i had fraternal boys, and at 8weeks you could clearly see them in their own sacs, good luck and enjoy, being a parent to twins xxxxx

That is amazing... congrats on the twins! I have known for about 18 weeks now that I am having twins and it is just as exciting to think about as when we first found out... enjoy and good luck!
