I have 8 month old twin girls. They co-slept for the first 3 months until the younger twin started sleeping through the night. We quickly realized that the older baby was the one waking her and decided that it was easier to deal with one screaming infant than two. So, we moved the younger twin to the nursery by herself and she has slept through the night since 3 months old. While the oldest twin slept with us until she was 5 months old, waking up every 2 hours.
I started to notice that when she would wake up it was because my husband was turning over in bed or we were making some kind of snoring noise or something. I decided that this might be what was waking her so we tried putting her in the nursery by herself and putting her sister back in the crib with us and noticed the older baby slept in the nursery by herself the whole night. The younger baby also slept through the night in the crib that's in our room. From then on they had been sleeping like this, when they turned 6 months old they were both sleeping through the night so we decided to move the crib from our bedroom to the nursery. But then, one twin would make a noise and wake the other and we went back to having two screaming children waking every few hours.
So, we are back to square one, the younger twin still sleeps in the crib that's in our room and the older one sleeps by herself in the nursery. So, my question is, how did you all get your twins to sleep through the night in the same room? Or, I realize this is a difficult question to answer so is there any particular age the babies might be ready to sleep in the same room?
Thank you all in advance.
