Clingy Twin at 18 Months

I have twin boys 18 months old. One twin is very outgoing wants to walk everywhere, the other twin is very clingy wont walk outside, screams if I attempt to go out of the room. He cries at the least little thing he may not like.

I am a stay at home mum. No one has my boys for me. My mum is too ill to watch them for a while. My patner takes them to his mum's for a few hours at the weekend. Anyone else dealt with a clingy twin at this age?

I have just posted the same question as you ! I didn't realise this until I had sent mine in.

Anyway ive 18 mth old twin girls and I'm glad that I'm not getting only one with this problem. They constantly follow me about the house and yes, i have to sneak off when I've got them distracted. I'll literally only get a min though to do whatever I had to do (even go to the toilet lol heaven forbid) before they realise I'm gone and shout after me 'mam mam!'

I'm a stay at home mum too so maybe this makes it worse. But what do u do. Anyway I'm sorry I cannot help as I'm right in the middle of this myself. But u have my empathy - I know it is so not easy. What I was just saying the other day ( need reminding of this myself now ) is that their wee phases don't last long. They go as quickly as they came and I'm sure this cli giness will be the same :) fingers crossed....

Hi Wendy, our girls are 19 months old and I am a stay at home mom as well. I have to say that sometimes they are just both clingy with me. I don't know what works the best but what I have been doing is trying to distract them with a toy or I might get down and play with them for a few minutes and then go back to what I was doing. It's a tough age. I feel like I can't walk out of the room some days but other days they play well. I just think distraction is the only thing that seems to work. Good luck. Hang in there, I know it is tough to have a little one being clingy but remember it won't last forever either and some day we will miss it.
