This month's featured mom of twins is also an M.D. She has a lot of great info to share, as well as a must read e-book! 1) WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS AND/OR WEBSITE/BLOG/PRODUCT? I recently started a website with the goal of inspiring twin moms to
self-educate, and prepare themselves to tackle the unique and most challenging
aspects of parenting twins and avoid running into difficulties. I intend to
share my own experiences and knowledge acquired through self education on
TwinBabyCare.com. I invite all would be and twin moms to visit my site and
share their experiences and thoughts.
I have faced lot of hurdles in taking care of my twins just like any first time twin mom would. I strongly felt there is a need for more websites dedicated exclusively to the topic of caring twins and focused on helping twin moms in dealing with the challenges involved in twin parenting.
As a SAHM of twin toddlers, I know what it takes to keep things together. When I see other twin moms passing by I have utmost respect for what they do. The thought that I may be able to help other new and would be moms of twins brings a lot of peace and happiness to me. I am compiling a lot of information on my website. Please read my blog posts on various topics like arrival check list, sleep schedule, handling night feedings etc... I am also working on writing e-books that can be easily downloaded on various topics pertaining to raising twins. My e-book titled Twin Babies-Essentials for Arrival is currently available through my website. This book is a complete guide and includes all the solutions for challenges involved in the first few months after birth.
I am a physician in the field of internal medicine and have been in practice until my pregnancy with twins and due to pregnancy related complications I have stayed home during my pregnancy and continued to do so by choice subsequent to the birth of my twin girls. I was lucky enough to have the help of my family in the initial few months, and for the past 14 months I have been taking care of the babies by myself. My husband works full time, but when he is home he is very helpful and that helps quite a bit. The most valuable thing I have learned is to keep my twin girls on a good feeding and sleep schedule, in fact this has been the key for me in being able to keep things together! We do not have any help for the cooking and house work, although I wish we could have found somebody to help us with the house work. I really love to prepare healthy food for my babies. I make sure they get variety of foods and I follow the food pyramid to make sure they get the nutrition they need. All mothers are heroes in my opinion but mothers of multiples are superheroes and they deserve a lot of credit. For new MOMS my advice is focus on developing good sleep habits and develop a good feeding and sleep schedule. Well rested twins on a good schedule are really a pleasure, and really does make a lot of difference and makes everything a lot more easier to manage(even though it's still a lot of work).
